Michael was born in Statesboro, Georgia. He traveled extensively as a son of an Air Force Father. The family lived in Japan, Iceland, Turkey, Korea and Guam as well as several U.S.. locations. Michael has a 20 year career as a middle school teacher in Georgia. He now lives with his wife, Barbara, in San Antonio, Texas.
He learned how to carve in Omaha, Nebraska as a member of the Mid-America Woodcarvers Club. He now serves as Vice President of the Alamo Area Woodcarvers Club in San Antonio. Michael has won numerous awards for his carvings, including First Place in the cariature category in the 2016 Texas Woodcarvers Competition.
